Holy Communion

Holy Communion

The celebration of the Eucharist, our Mass, is the source and the summit of our Catholic life. When we receive Jesus in Holy Communion we are intimately united with him and with our sisters and brothers in faith.

Children are helped to prepare to celebrate their first Holy Communion around the age of eight. The most important part of the preparation is joining with their families and others in the Sunday Mass. From February to June the children also attend classes in the Don Bosco Centre on Thursdays after school and the parents are asked to attend occasional evening parent meetings.

As part of their preparation, the children will also celebrate their first Reconciliation (Confession). If your child will soon be eight years of age or older please submit the on-line application form using the button at the foot of this page.

Perhaps you are an adult who was baptised Catholic but missed out on your first Holy Communion. Please get in touch through the Parish Office and we can help you take another step towards receiving the Bread of life.

Our Lady Help of Christians Parish is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham: Registered Charity No. 234216
