Young people are usually confirmed around the age of eleven following a period of preparation. In our parish the preparation usually takes place between March and May on Monday afternoons. Candidates for Confirmation are asked to choose a sponsor who is a practising Catholic and who is already confirmed. Candidates are also asked to choose a confirmation name which should be that of a Saint.
